How to Use Sex Work Bluesky: Grow Engagement Part II

How do we grow engagement on Bluesky when so many users have migrated back to the addictive outrage farming and negativity boosting algorithms of Twitter/X? I admit it, I used to be addicted to the toxicity AKA "drama" on X so I get it. Bluesky doesn't hit quite the same because there's no algorithm designed to purposely exploit the worst instincts and insecurities hidden within the deep recesses of our mammalian brains. People are less likely to spend hours a day on Bluesky and although I don't pretend to be an expert, I'll share what's worked for me in terms of increasing my engagement.
I spend almost no time on the site farming engagement so whatever visibility I may have is not from simply commenting on or liking posts made by other SWers. Check out my previous Bluesky blog post on the subject of increasing Bluesky engagement. This blog will quickly cover a few new tips and tricks I've recently uncovered.
First of all, I never know what folks on Bluesky are going to resonate with. A post that I assume will get 20 likes ends up getting 120, which is a big number for most SWers on Bluesky at this point in time, especially if we don't engagement farm using lists or starter packs. There are the obvious things I can say, like post daily. This is something many SWers aren't doing and you will, IMHO, regret it when X inevitably sinks. I'm going to discuss some less obvious lessons I learned about Bluesky and may slightly repeat some of the talking points from my previous Bluesky blog post.

Avoid Adult Content Labels
It irks me to no end that folks follow SWers yet can't take a few seconds to go to their setting and allow, at a bare minimum, "Sexually Suggestive" photos and videos to be shown to them. I understand not wanting to see hardcore sexual images but Bluesky content labels are automatically placed on most images featuring a bodysuit, bare arms and a bit of cleavage. Because folks aren't navigating to their settings then to the Moderation section to allow sexually suggestive content (not nudity, there's a separate label for that) to be shown to them, they're not seeing many SWer posts. This lowers our visibility and engagement.
This is why I'm very careful when it comes to which images I use as the cover photos for my blogs. If they seem weird and random: They are. I post mainly outtakes from shoots and totally covered-up photos so my blogs are actually visible to most users.
Part of the problem may be due to the fact that people are confused by this task. It took me a few seconds to find the Moderation section under settings and most people don't want to take a few seconds to do something. Bluesky should make it easier for folks to allow adult content to be shown to them.
An additional problem may be that many people are using Bluesky without actually signing into an account and therefore any slightly sexy images are hidden for them.
Don't show midriff or booty: My videos or photos where I'm hiding my stomach and butt generally don't obtain an automatic label and are shown to more folks. Of course there are exceptions to this rule, but generally, any images of me in a bra and jeans are hidden by Bluesky. Images of my paler than pale ass are hit with the content label and not shown to many users. Of course, I still show booty and midriff but I know that that content isn't going to be visible to as many users.
Hiding your sexy stomach is the key to not getting hit with a content label, in my experience.
Do post bodysuit images with long sleeves: It's hit or miss in terms of which bodysuit photos Bluesky determines to be heathenous but my videos wearing a bodysuit that has sheer, long sleeves always hit. Covered up but still sexy.

Professional Photos Ain't It
Professional photos work in terms of actually landing clients and making me money but they don't boost my engagement on Bluesky. This app is weird, man. I discussed this in my prior blog but Bluesky loves "content creator" content. The less polished, the lower the quality, the more junk I have strewn in the background, the better. (I'm not saying that online SWers have junk strewn in the background). This is not how Twitter/X works. SWer Twitter loves both high quality selfies and professional photos but hates video.
Videos perform much better for me than photos. Maybe that's because I personally really enjoy filming videos? IDK. It'll never not blow my mind that a low resolution video I shot in a tiny hotel room, with my backdrop a beautiful closed bathroom door, brought me a nutty amount of likes and engagement and definitely hit Bluesky's (supposedly non-existent) algorithm. I showed half a butt (side butt) and that didn't engage the loathed adult content label. I guess a side glute is cool? I'm wearing a black bodysuit with sheer, long sleeves and fishnet thigh highs, leather thigh straps/garters (?) and heels. I edited together a repeating short clip of me gyrating around as best I can in heels then flexed my right arm at the end. Totally random, totally cunty, totally unexpected engagement.

The Shorter the Caption, the Better
This is simply my experience. The more I ramble when writing my Bluesky posts, the less likely people are to engage with my content. I have been trying to keep the captions on my images/videos short, maybe six words at the most. People don't really care and don't really want to read what other people have to say unless they are clients or true fans.

Post in the Morning
I find that my AM posts do better than any other posts but this is sort of obvious and many social media apps function this way. Don't post too early because then you won't hit Bluesky's (supposedly non-existent) algorithm. I use an app that preschedules most of my Bluesky posts because I work-from-home at my civ job in the AM and don't have the mental capacity for both SW and civ work simultaneously.

Hashtags are Pointless
What more can I say?

Additional Tips & Tricks
As I wrote in a previous blog, we can spend time liking/commenting on other SWers post to boost our engagement and visibility. We can search hashtags that are relevant to us, which I sometimes do, and leave comments on the popular SW photos that utilize those hashtags (like #redhead or #naturalredhead) but I truly don't care enough about social media to do this. We can also scroll starter packs and create lists, liking all the posts made by SWers on those lists, to farm engagement. I do occasionally scroll and show the gals, guys and they's some lurve but not often.
If you liked my blog or learned something, please repost and like my Bluesky post promoting it so others can find it. They too can start hiding their stomach, tiddies, and hind-quarters while donning a black garbage bag so as to not trigger an adult content label AKA shadowban on Bluesky. Wait, that's kinda sexy. A fitted black garbage bag. No?
